About Society
Shri. Gadge Maharaj Vidyalaya Mandal, Murtizapur was established in 1952 by Great Social Reformer and Saint Shri. Gadge Baba. Shri. Gadge Baba was a visionary person who insisted on mass education and cleanliness. The constitution of the Institution was drafted by Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Former First Minister for agricultural of Union Government, Dr.Panjabrao Deshmukh has help to provide more than 10 acres of land to the institution. The institution is a result of efforts and contribution of above mentioned leaders.
“Man is like a stone without education” was repeatedly conveyed by Saint Gadge Baba through his Kirtan. He has an inner urge to establish an educational institution for poor and down trodden people in the vicinity.
Society runs Schools, Junior College, Senior College, Orphan Hostel, Hostel for backward girls students, Junior Girls College and English Convent and Anganwadi Training Centre in this way the society has created an imprint on cultural and educational environment of Murtizapur Tahsil. Society has reached to the rural education through schools established at Durgwada and Shivan.
Great Educationist Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh provided the land from government. Former MLS Late Pratibhatai Tidke has given her valuable contribution in flourishing the society. Presently, Hon’ble Bhaiyasaheb Alias Suhasrao Tidke (Former MLA) is the president of the Institution the society is still developing under his patronage.
