About Department
Aristotle the father of political science said politics is Master of science. Shri Gadge Maharaj mahavidyalay murtijapur has the student centric Department of political science was started in the year 1963. The department of political science is offering choice best credit system . The Degree program offered by the department consists of Discipline specific core and Elective courses, skill enhance courses and Generic open elective course. The faculty has published its research papers and books with reputed publishers and articles are written National and international journals. The Department sent students to the Gram Panchayat , panchayat samiti ,Nagar Parishad to observe, the functioning of these institutes .and our students participates in their working. The Department organised an educational tour vidhansabha Maharashtra winter, session at Nagpur. The department had organised National conferences ,workshop and also arranged Guest Lectures on various topics. The Department endeavours to promote the intellectual transformation of the students and to prepare them for contributing to the nation building process through equality and public service by becoming good citizens and Great Leaders . The Department has recognised Research centre from 2022 in which a 4 seats are allotted as per the norms of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. In our college we have central library and The Department of political science has its own library. There are various books in the library. The department also provides all old question papers to students for practicing University exams.

Recognition of Ph.D Research centre
The department of political science has a Research centre initiated in the year 2022. Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University allotted 4 seats for the Research centre. In this centre 2 students registered for a Ph.D degree.

The Department of political science created the Electoral Literacy club for Voting Awareness and Voter’s Registration .
